IPMAR logo

IPMAR is a collection of human cell samples that will allow scientists to study the genetic causes of sporadic Alzheimer’s disease.

We collected blood samples from many people that had Alzheimer’s disease with high genetic risk for the disease, and also blood samples from healthy adults with low genetic risk for the disease, and we converted the cells into induced pluripotent stem cells. The induced pluripotent stem cells are being made available in this collection, as scientists accessing the collection will be able to grow brain cells from the stem cells, and perform research into how genetics contribute to Alzheimer’s disease, and potentially use these cells for drug discovery.
